The client saw a gap in the Truck Parts market and decided to exploit it. However, due to financial constraints was unable to make the necessary investment in the design and development of the website. He thus took advantage of our Partnership scheme where we contributed our domain knowledge into the design and development of the site and he looked at the marketing aspects of the website. The site itself is built to serve as a platform for truck part suppliers and customers to meet. It ensures that customers get the best prices for the truck parts they are looking for and it ensures that suppliers get another route to market. The website was built on the .NET platform and uses AJAX to make the site more user friendly. It uses a MS SQL database to hold supplier, customers and subscription information. The website is currently undergoing search engine optimisation to get well ranked with the major search engines. |

- Reduce staff time spent in answering customer enquiries on product information and prices
- Reduce the no of order related errors from both the customer and their inhouse staff
- Provide customers with stock information on products
Solution: The solution provided featured two main sections. A password protected website for Forgefix Ltd. customers and a bridge solution which was responsible for the transfer of information from and to their internal accounts and inventory management system. Forgefix Ltd. can now setup customer accounts on the website from their internal system. This information is then transferred and updated to the website by the bridge software at regular intervals. Customers can then login to the website using their login names and passwords and see… - Product information as well as technical specification on products.
- Customer specific prices ie. Category based discounts and special nett prices
- A history of orders placed. They can also reorder from their order history thus saving time on re-orders
- Stock information on orders prior to placing an order
All this has resulted in time saving benefits for Forgefix Ltd. staff who are now directing their energies towards increasing sales and sales efforts. The solution has also increased the efficiency and added value to the company by… - Reducing data related errors. Now orders from the website are directly transferred into the internal system via the bridge module. Invoices and despatch notes are raised against these orders. Due to the reduction in data entry, there has been a resultant reduction in related errors.
- Reducing order related errors. Customers can now see exactly what they are ordering prior to placing an order. They even have access to technical specifications on products. This has benefited Forgefix Ltd. in two ways. One - taken the burden away from sales staff in providing the same information. Two - reduced customer related errors with regard to customers ordering the wrong products due to insufficient or incorrect information supplied.
- Faster response to customers. The staff time saved by the above two is now spent in providing customers with a faster response and better service.
- Reduce inventory costs. Using the special offers section on the website, Forgefix Ltd. is able to highlight to customers special offers that are available on products that it needs to move out quickly. Forgefix Ltd. is now able to move its products quickly with relatively little to no cost, thus reducing its inventory costs.
- Reduce Time To Market on new products. iCube Solutions Ltd. offers a mailshot service as part of this solution. Customers are sent mailshots with information about new products added to the Forgefix Catalogue. This is a relatively low cost and high speed way to getting new products to market.

C & R Hardware Ltd. approached us with the idea of creating a website with a range of products that would cater to a niche market i.e. Door/Window furniture. Solution Objective: The objective of the initiative would be to create a website in a short span of time that would allow for the sales of door furniture to customers with little administrative burden to C & R Hardware Ltd. Solution: We used our template based web solution to get the solution up and running in a short span of 3 weeks. Leohardware.com was built with all the features of our template based website solution, so customers could register on the website and have their accounts created for them automatically (no manual intervention required), they could then go on to place an order on the website. As Leohardware.com was integrated with the Protx Payment Gateway, all orders received from the website were already paid for (again removing another administrative burden ie. chasing payments). Further all orders are sent (emailed) directly to the relevant suppliers and are shipped directly from the suppliers to the customers. The suppliers have a separate interface to access the orders and can also print Leohardware customised despatch notes to go with the delivery of the order. This has again saved the company a lot of time in the order processing functions. Lastly, all despatched orders can be pulled directly into Sage Line 50. Solution Objective: Their objective was to have an online presence as well as to better service their existing clients through the use of internet based technology. Solution: The candrhardware.com website was built to achieve this objective. It allowed existing customers to now place their orders online. Customers could now login to the candrhardware website and view their prices and history of orders. The website also featured a project based invoicing module for its larger clients. Such clients could setup on the website a list of projects for which ongoing work was being undertaken. They could then set budgets for each project and orders placed by site personnel on the candrhardware website would be immediately reflected online. So from a single screen, management personnel could ascertain which projects where running to budget and which were exceeding their budgeted allocations. The system also allowed for project based invoicing as opposed to order based invoicing thus cutting down the accounts side administration work for both C and R Hardware and its clients. |

They had a manual system which was being used to manage bookings for the pharmacy clients they serviced. However, this system was prone to a lot of problems namely, - Insufficient communication amongst work staff on job booking updates

- Locums being called more than once to fill the same booking
- Invoicing was more than a month behind as invoicing was a tedious process of making diary entries of completed job bookings and costing them.
- Cost to company for a staff member leaving was very high as a staff member took with them a lot of information about both pharmacists and pharmacies.
- High cost per booking as calls to locums to fill vacant bookings was random and based on staff information.
Solution: The solution developed for Medical Jobs UK was a bespoke browser based booking management system. All information about locums and pharmacies were now stored in the booking system. The system also captured information like ‘availability dates for locums’, pharmacy work staff interaction, locum work staff interaction and locum job quality / feedback. The solution now provided Medical Jobs UK with the following benefits.- Reduced cost per booking – As the solution now recommends locums that would be available to fill a booking based on ‘availability dates’ previously entered, staff were able to secure a booking with fewer no. of phone calls now.
