This solution features an ecommerce website fully integrated with the company’s inhouse accounts and inventory management system. Forgefix Ltd. were looking for a solution whereby they could

  • Provide customers with more information about their products
  • Reduce staff time spent in answering customer enquiries on product information and prices
  • Reduce the no of order related errors from both the customer and their inhouse staff
  • Provide customers with stock information on products

Solution:
The solution provided featured two main sections. A password protected website for Forgefix Ltd. customers and a bridge solution which was responsible for the transfer of information from and to their internal accounts and inventory management system.

Forgefix Ltd. can now setup customer accounts on the website from their internal system. This information is then transferred and updated to the website by the bridge software at regular intervals. Customers can then login to the website using their login names and passwords and see…

  • Product information as well as technical specification on products.
  • Customer specific prices ie. Category based discounts and special nett prices
  • A history of orders placed. They can also reorder from their order history thus saving time on re-orders
  • Stock information on orders prior to placing an order

All this has resulted in time saving benefits for Forgefix Ltd. staff who are now directing their energies towards increasing sales and sales efforts. The solution has also increased the efficiency and added value to the company by…

  • Reducing data related errors. Now orders from the website are directly transferred into the internal system via the bridge module. Invoices and despatch notes are raised against these orders. Due to the reduction in data entry, there has been a resultant reduction in related errors.
  • Reducing order related errors. Customers can now see exactly what they are ordering prior to placing an order. They even have access to technical specifications on products. This has benefited Forgefix Ltd. in two ways. One - taken the burden away from sales staff in providing the same information. Two - reduced customer related errors with regard to customers ordering the wrong products due to insufficient or incorrect information supplied.
  • Faster response to customers. The staff time saved by the above two is now spent in providing customers with a faster response and better service.
  • Reduce inventory costs. Using the special offers section on the website, Forgefix Ltd. is able to highlight to customers special offers that are available on products that it needs to move out quickly. Forgefix Ltd. is now able to move its products quickly with relatively little to no cost, thus reducing its inventory costs.
  • Reduce Time To Market on new products. iCube Solutions Ltd. offers a mailshot service as part of this solution. Customers are sent mailshots with information about new products added to the Forgefix Catalogue. This is a relatively low cost and high speed way to getting new products to market.
